Schools of Sanctuary

Schools of Sanctuary

At Clarendon Road, we are extremely proud to be accredited as a School of Sanctuary. We are committed to learning and understanding what it means to be seeking sanctuary and the difficulties asylum seekers and refugees face. Our curriculum ensures that there are opportunities to learn, understand and take action around the themes of human rights as well as diversity, inclusion, refuge and migration.

In order to be a School of Sanctuary, we follow the three main principles:

  1. Learn about what it means to be seeking sanctuary.
  2. Take positive action to embed concepts of welcome, safety and inclusion within our school and the wider community.
  3. Share our vision and achievements – be proud!

Our New Arrivals Ambassadors play a vital role in our School of Sanctuary as they welcome and support new arrivals to our school.
