Dear Parents/Carers,
In September 2020, PSHE – Personal, Social and Health Education – became a statutory part of the primary
curriculum and there are key areas that we must include in our teaching and learning for our pupils.
At Clarendon, we were already ahead on this, having a very comprehensive curriculum that met the needs of our
pupils, reflected the diversity of our school community and the context our pupils are growing up in.
Miss Crook, our PSHE lead, has continued to develop this to ensure we meet all the legal requirements as well as
keeping the aspects of the curriculum which are bespoke to our school.
Part of the curriculum that we must cover is Relationships and Sex Education. We know this may ring alarm bells
with some of you, but want to reassure you that the main focus on this is to do with relationships, the different
families we are part of and how we look after ourselves and our bodies.
As the final part of our curriculum deisgn and to help us write our PSHE policy, we are asking for your views.
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Z2NYDNH to help inform
our next steps.
We will also be hosting a Zoom meeting to talk through our curriculum overview, the policy and address any
questions or queries raised from the survey results.
We hope you can join us and will send full details closer to the time.
As always, if you have any worries, questions or queries, please do contact school via email:
clarendonroad.primaryschool@salford.gov.uk.
Stay Safe,
Mrs R Gallagher
